May God Bless Our Veterans and Our Military!!
Tomorrow is the day set aside to honor our Veterans. Actually, we should honor and thank our Veterans and our Military EACH day, however, it is great to unite our hearts and thoughts and prayers on one special day. No doubt there are some who take our Military for granted and feel somewhat removed from the importance of a strong Military. I feel we owe our very freedom in most every area of our lives to those who have been willing to lay their lives on the line for us. We take so much for granted and fail, perhaps, to give praise and thanks where praise and thanks are due. Tomorrow would be a good day to dwell on praise and thanks for all Veterans and Military.
I am very privileged to be the wife of a Veteran, the Mother of a Veteran and the Great- Grandmother of a Marine. My dear husband was drafted during World War II and served for almost 3 years in the Navy during the heat of the War. During that time, his ship was involved in battle after battle and was continuously in great danger. God was good and spared his life. Ron and Ryan each volunteered to serve our country as many other young men and women are doing day after day.
We were blessed with a special service at our church, Seminole Baptist Temple, last evening. Almost 100 Military members, past and present, were recognized and honored during a beautiful, emotional and very memorable service. The patriotic music and singing was a blessing indeed. A Military Chaplain delivered a very timely and interesting message. Each member of each division of the service was presented with special medals as they lined up across the front of the auditorium. The World War II Veterans were seated on the platform. There were only 13 World War II Veterans present. Three others were unable to attend. A picture of each in their uniforms was shown on the monitors as they were being identified by name and rank. They also were presented medals. A great service it was!!
Remember, our Nation will remain the land of the free ONLY as long as it is the HOME of the BRAVE!!! THANK YOU, MILITARY!!!
Good Veteran's Day to all,
