I am not having to hold my breath any longer! I finally received some letters from Ryan yesterday. He is doing well in Basic but says he misses his Grandmother Holland's cooking! Imagine that! He said he does get to eat ham every other morning at breakfast but it is nothing like Grandmother's ham and nothing else compares either. He's a little homesick but he is getting used to military life. He said he does miss his sleep! He had to stay up for watch the other night and missed out on 2 hours of his sleep time. He said he wasn't very happy about that because he and I both know how much he likes his sleep. I told him he might have to learn to nap while doing push-ups! He would really love to hear from everyone, so anyone at all that feels like writing him, please do. I'll put his new address at the end of this post. He said that church and letters are the highlight of his days. He said he loves going to church every day and that the pastor is becoming his best friend. He even sent me a pamphlet from his church where he had underlined things and written notes in it. He likes the music at church as well because it's the same music that we sing at our church. I'm so happy for him and proud of him too! I believe he is exactly where he needs to be right now even though I miss him terribly. I will update everyone as I hear more from him. He said to be sure and tell everyone thank you for keeping him in their prayers. It must be working, he said.
I've got to go mail a few letters to him and try to find some pictures to send him too.
Love to all,
Sherlyn

We're glad to hear some news about Ryan, have been wondering how he is getting along. Sounds like he is fitting right into the military and adjusting well, I know you feel better after hearing from him but still miss him. We'll get a letter to him soon. Keep us informed.
