Hello Again!!!

Yes, Kristen, I will!!!
Grandmother can you help me?
This is the Day...
Annie's Photography
I am envious of Anne and her talent and knowledge for taking beautiful pictures. We have identical cameras but I never get the unbelievable pictures she does so I am convinced the important factor in great photography is the person behind the camera rather than the camera itself. Oh, well, she is so kind to share, so I will just enjoy her pictures.
We are promised rain today. That is OK. We haven't had any for several weeks. I am realizing a little more each day that Fall is here. Our days are getting so much shorter. Jan has to leave for work while it is still totally dark. Yesterday morning she had to stop for the deer to cross the road at the bottom of our hill.
My love and prayers for each,
Dortha

It's me!!!! Finally!!!
Darla & Kim, Thanks!!!
I realize this snowman is a little out of character but I think he is cute!!! Today is a very warm day and a little snow wouldn't be too bad.
Cheers to Darla and Kim!!! You two can go to the head of the class!!! Thanks for your contributions. Your birthday pictures are great, Kim. Looks as if Cole had a fun time. I will look forward to Kristen's picture tomorrow, Darla.
I just needed to acknowledge your postings. Our on-line "family" is growing. At least Darla admits reading so that is encouraging. Now surely she can find 5 minutes a day to say "Hello".
Bye for now,
Dortha
Cole's 2nd Birthday
He loved skee-ball, but I don't think the ball went far enough even one time. That's okay, I love skee-ball, so I got to play for him.
I think I put about 10 tokens in this one machine. It was his favorite. Cole tries to say 'car', but it comes out 'cow'.
I'm still here!
I love to be able to keep up with everyone, I quickly log-on to check for new pics and posting, all the time now! Grandmother is right- it is very addicting!! It brought a smile to my face to see that cute smile and bright eyes of Maverick! He's adorable, but that isn't a far reach with having such a handsome father and beautiful mother. Until later-Darla

Keep the elderly off the streets late at nite
I don't know any news worth telling. Just thought I'd let my mother have something to do besides staying out 'til all hours playing cards!!! I like to tease Mother & Dad about their late night escapades. (Yep--it's midnight when they come home!) But really I'm glad they have friends to socialize with and games to play. (Keeps their brains sharp!)
Ryon, I agree with Mother that it has been fun seeing Mavrik grow up via emailed pics. Can't wait to see you guys.
The washer and dryer are calling my name. For those of you who don't know it, I REALLY do like to do laundry. Of course, I have my own rules everyone has to go by or I don't do theirs!! And I really do have to fold the towels the very same way everytime!
Another thing about me........I have to have God in my daily life. I can't live without Him.
God bless.
Jan
Mr. Sunshine!!!!!
How can you look at that smile and not smile yourself???? He is quite a little man and growing soooo fast. He looks typical "Californian" with that built-in tan. Thank you for sharing your pictures, Ryon. Even though we haven't seen Mavrik in person yet, we feel we know him as we have followed him from the hospital nursery to this present time via your great pictures. We are anxious to see him and hopefully it will be this December.
We don't need to look at the calendar to know it is Fall time. We have had some made-to-order, typical, Fall days recently. Today we are promised rain but that is OK. We will enjoy these last few days of Summer. All too soon, we will have to adjust to not-so-comfortable colder temps.
Take care, all,
Dortha

God is so Good!!
I am so grateful for the freedom we have to worship. We take so many things for granted and don't dwell enough, perhaps, on the fact that our freedom could be taken from us. There are many in this world who are not free to worship as we are. I appreciate so much our military who put their lives on the line and some even GIVE their lives for our protection. They deserve our prayers and support.
Sept.17-07
Now obviously, this is not the picture I was searching for but since it is the one I clicked on, I decided to post it so each of you can receive a "chuckle"!!! I remember the day it was taken, the only school picture that was ever taken at my country school and I never had another school picture until I was in high-school. Marie wanted to comb my hair before the picture was taken and I would not let her!!! Imagine that!!! The hair-do isn't too different from the style of today----71 years later.
I will get off here and see if I can find the "right " picture for another post.

Beautiful day in the Ozarks!
I just wanted my mother to know that I'm probably becoming addicted to this also! If I can do it, the rest of you can too.
Talk to you later,
Jan

Picture of Merrel
You Bet I Am!!!
Bless YOU, Darla!!! And yes, I did smile again---but not quite at 6:30 today. It was almost 7:00 when I came down stairs this morning. You see, we stayed out too late last night---got home at 12:01 so I slept in a little later this morning. I will let you guess why we "stayed out"!!! We are having revival this week at our church and we didn't come straight home!!!
I am so glad you have contracted the blogging fever and with Kristen's encourageaging you, maybe the guilt will take over and you can't resist. It has become addictive for me. I check each time I get close to my computer, which could be a dozen times a day, just to see if SOMEONE might have posted. If no one has posted, I may re-read some "older posts". I may even re-read some I, myself, have posted.
I shall look forward to the picture of Kristen's birthday tomorrow. I like the picture you posted also. It is very restful and serene and to think, Roger and Anne have to look at that awesome ocean every day.
Well, we have more clouds today and promise of more showers. I won't complain, however, I know "This is the day the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it"!!! I like the Fall time. The air is cool and crisp this morning. The sad part is that soon our beautiful, green leaves will be falling from the trees and then the ice and snow will come. At that time, we will set our sights on yet another Springtime with beautiful green leaves once again.
Thank you for your kind words, Darla. I am not so sure your Granddad was using all his brain cells when he chose me over the other girl friends he had. He had several on the string at the same time and some of them were very sharp and attractive. I didn't realize, until later, how many I was competing with and I feel quite honored and blessed that he picked me. I just supposed that I was his only one, just as he was my only one but that wasn't true!!! He was playing the field!!! An interesting fact is, I am the only one of his friends who is still living. I suppose that shows you that he has taken very good care of me.
Please have a great day and thank you for posting.
I love you,
Grandmother

You're the 'Woman'!!!
Roger & Anne in Hawaii
Can you believe, Roger and Anne are living-it-up in Hawaii this week!!! No doubt they are basking in the beautiful sunshine while we are sitting here wondering if and when the sunshine will shine again. We have had rain and more rain, clouds and more clouds and we do not need any more of either today even though our forcast says we will have showers.
We wish Roger and Anne a wonderful and restful stay in Kawai. They certainly deserve it and even though we are jealous, we still wish them well. Perhaps Anne will post some of the beautiful pictures she will be taking while there. She is becoming quite an accomplished photographer.
Love you two,
Dortha
Shock!!!! But Good
We are glad Andrew had a good 15th birthday. He probably likes the picture his Mom posted more than the one I posted as he looks more "robust"!!! You are right, Darla, he has grown up and too fast!!!
I shall look forward to Kristen's postings. Thank you for showing her how, Darla. This is such a great way to keep in touch. We continue to trust that others will join soon.
I hope everyone will have a great week.

She's fallen and she can't get up!!!!!
Kim, thank you for setting this up for us. It's nice to know that I have such a smart niece. And you are exactly right, Grandmother (Mother) is great at this. We will all benefit from hearing her stories. Some of us don't have the time to talk about all of it. Our family heritage and happenings are important and this is an excellent way to communicate.
I love hearing about and from each of you. God has been so good to our family. Give Him praise!!
Luv ya, Jan
Happy Birthday, Andrew!!!
